Yeah rampantheart, I really appreciate it.
Also it doesn't have to be a massive conversation. Just after interrupting their pattern, you usually notice the smile or warm response from them and inside your like "wow it works".
We're just so ingrained in our own habits we forget the small things which make the difference.
I always chat up people. When I was an insurance agent, you had to break the ice. One thing I always did with new clients is comment on photos around them, their personal stuff, ask about their family, how long they've lived there, etc.
When I go shop, I talk to the cashiers, the salespeople, and other customers.
And now I'm a cashier myself, it always pays to be friendly and talk to the customers, whether asking about a product they've bought, commenting on what they are wearing, etc.
So it definitely works both ways.
I definitely agree Meg.
It really puts the other person at ease as well.
Thanks for the comment! :)
